In 1977, Push America was founded by members of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Originally created with the intentions of building therapeutic play units for the severely handicapped, Push America today has become widely renown for their cycling events and construction projects that work to endorse a better understanding of people that have handicaps.

Nationally, Chapters of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity have collected close to 8 million dollars to donate to the goals of Push America. Countless hours of physical work have also been employed by the members of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity to help aid Push America.

With the mission of, "Building leaders of tomorrow by serving people with disabilities today," OMICRON Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity is proud to be partnered with Push America.

"Individually, they are merely words. But together, they make a profound statement-to see the ability in all people, to work together to achieve more, to understand rather than to marginalize, and to always maintain the quality of our mission. Together, those four words are powerful. Together, they are the core values of Push America, and they will help steer our organization into the future."

"Push America is a unique charitable organization in how it is the only philanthropy which was started and is still run by a Greek organization.  Its purpose is to raise money and awareness for people with disabilities, and it offers its participants many activites to get involved in.

I personally sacrificed two weeks in May to participate in Gear Up Florida (GUF).  This is an 800 mile bicycle ride from Miami to Tallahassee and raises more than $83,000 each year.

The only way you can participate in events like this and others, is to be a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.  In this organization you actually get to see the faces of the people you are helping and know that what you are doing is making a difference in the world."
